On the evening of September 28th,
DTU held the 2013 Emcee Finals to recruit MCs for the university. Many staff
and students were in attendance. Judges included Distinguished Teacher Le Cong
Co, DTU Provost and President, Mr. Do Hoang Long, Deputy Director of the Rong
Tien Sa Company and Tran Thi Quang Giao, a Danang Radio and Television (DRT)
editor. They judged contestants on their appearance, emceeing and presentation
skills.

During the preliminary round, nine
outstanding contestants were selected to enter the finals. They had to randomly
select a topic for presentation as a professional emcee of TV game show, a news
program or a music or talk show. Then the final three MCs were chosen to face
off in a knockout contest to determine the winner, based on the audience vote
(50%) and the jury’s evaluation (50%).

Chuc Thi Anh, from K16DL2, was the
winner and received a cup and a prize of five million dong. Nguyen Thanh Cong
came second and Phan Thi Nhat Linh was third.
The
2013 DTU Emcee Contest provided students with an opportunity to practice their
soft skills which will be very useful in their future careers.
