The Opening Ceremony of Suoi Hoa Nursing-Home of Love

The songs "Khat Vong", "Noi Dao Xa", "Giac Mo Cua Toi" were performed by DTU students at the opening ceremony of Suoi Hoa Nursing-Home of Love on May 21st, creating a friendly beginning to the event. The Suoi Hoa Nursing-Home of Love was built on the Suoi Hoa Ecotourism site in the Phu Tuc hamlet, in the Hoa Phu commune of the Hoa Vang district in Danang, with the support of many organizations, in order to help underprivileged, sick patients of Danang.

Attendees included Mr. Vo Duy Khuong, the Standing Vice-Chairman of the Danang People’s Committee, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hung, Director of the Suoi Hoa Ecotourism site, representatives from the Danang Health Department and many local businesses and press agencies.

The Board of Sponsors and Management have called for support from many local individuals and organizations to develop this important project. Construction, which cost more than 4 billion VND, officially started in August 2011, with a total area of 1,060 sq. meters above 2,000 sq. meters. There are 50 rooms, of which 40 are for treatment, (with 80 beds), in addition to 10 function rooms.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Chairman of the Danang Medical Society, officially announced the decision to open the Suoi Hoa Medical center, under the supervision of Danang Medical Society. The Board of Sponsors and Management drew up working guidelines for the Suoi Hoa Nursing-Home of Love. At the nursing-home, patients will be checked and treated using traditional medicines, acupuncture, rehabilitation and so on. All poor patients with serious diseases will be treated free of charge.

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co said: “We are very happy to implement this important project in a previously neglected field. I believe that the Suoi Hoa Nursing-Home of Love will benefit all the poor patients who come for treatment. This contribution from the community will bring them new hopes of overcoming their afflictions and enjoying a better standard of living".
