Duy Tan University has gained wide recognition within the community as a provider of qualified graduates to satisfy the needs of the local and national workforce. DTU’s Business Administration program has been offered at the Bachelor’s level for 19 years now and the Master’s level for 5. On 7th May, DTU was approved by MOET to offer a Ph.D program in Business Administration. This is a turning-point for DTU, as it has become the first and the only private university approved so far for a Ph.D course.

Over the past 19 years, DTU has invested to develop the infrastructure and improve the teaching quality to meet the requirements of regional and global integration. The university has collaborated with prestigious American universities, such as Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), one of the top four universities in IT, Pennsylvania State University (PSU), one of the top three universities in Hospitality and Tourism in the world and with California State University (CSU Fullerton and Cal Poly), a leading US university in Architecture and Civil Engineering, to offer advanced academic programs. Additionally, four programs at the Master’s level have been also been added at DTU since 2009. These include a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Accounting (MAcc) and Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCIE). The high academic standard of the graduates has earned more prestige for DTU, which then allowed DTU to launch the Business Administration program at the Ph.D level. This course will open more opportunities for Ph.D graduates to become corporate executives in the field of business policy and strategy managers, after their research of business requirements in the Central Region.

Associate Professor Le Duc Toan, Dean of the DTU Graduate School said: “The international Ph.D curricula and DTU highly-qualified lecturers are ready to guarantee the highest quality of education. The DTU Ph.D Business Administration program based on the one from Pennsylvania State University (USA), a long-time DTU partner. Researchers and business experts from Pennsylvania State University and California State University will be involved in teaching the program. Nine courses will be taught and supervised by Vietnamese and American professors to complete graduate theses. In order to graduate, students must have at least one research paper published in the SSCI or ISI’s magazines and present their paper at an international science conference”.

With an efficient and strategy DTU has steadily steered in the right to improve teaching quality at the postgraduate level regionally to help it become one of the foremost providers of Masters and Ph.D programs in South East Asia".
Thanks to innovative curricula offered at global standards, the DTU Business Administration at the Ph.D level promises to provide more certified executive and researchers to contribute to the nation’s economic development.
