On November 29th, 2012, a delegation from the Vietnam Free & Open Source Software Association (VFOSSA), led by Mr. Truong Anh Tuan, VFOSSA Vice Chairman and Mr. Vo Thai Lam, visited DTU.
According to Mr. Truong Anh Tuan, VFOSSA is launching a new project to improve the exchange of information and awareness concerning open source software usage in education and to enhance research. VFOSSA hopes that DTU will participate in projects launched by VFOSSA and local companies.
The VFOSSA delegation visits DTU
“We have visited many academic institutions offering IT programs in Vietnam. This is our first visit to DTU and we highly appreciate DTU’s efforts to upgrade its IT curricula and implement open software. We believe that this will be a foundation for future collaboration”, said Mr. Truong Anh Tuan.
On behalf of DTU, Mr. Truong Tien Vu thanked VFOSSA for its new relationship with DTU. He also suggested some basic steps that should be taken in preparation for the partnership.
As a result, from now until March 2013, DTU, VFOSSA and local companies will hold several meetings before coming to an official agreement.
