Construction problems and poor quality goods have been blamed on managers and unskilled workers and the shortage of skilled workers has slowed the economy. As a result, local companies have been searching for new, highly-qualified employees. The establishment of DTU’s Vocational College and Trade School has helped to satisfy the need to meet regional demands.
On the 19th of September 19, 2011, DTU was granted permission by MOET to open a Vocational College specializing in Information Technology, Accounting and Tourism & Hospitality. One month later, DTU became the only institution to offer courses running from the vocational to undergraduate levels.
DTU students in a practice lesson
Enrolling at the vocational level, students can gain credits in practical topics to prepare for working as Tour Guides, in Room Service, Accounting, Advertising, Design and so on. By applying “project-based-training”, students are trained in real life situations, utilizing soft skills, under the guidance of a highly qualified faculty.
Students at the vocational level receive the same benefits as undergraduates, including tuition assistance, scholarships and opportunities to study abroad.
Mr. Le Cong Co, the DTU Chairman and Provost said: “We guarantee that DTU vocational students are provided with enough professional skills to contribute to the economic development of our region.”
“A rolling stone gathers no moss” is a very meaningful saying. The best way to pursue your dream is by choosing the most suitable major. Many successful international businessmen and engineers were educated at the vocational level. DTU’s Vocational College and Trade School now allows even more students to pursue their dreams of a brighter future.
