The Vietnamese population is increasingly
faced with unpredictable natural disasters, exposure to hazardous chemicals and
other problems threatening our longevity. The increasing number of hospitals
and health care centers do not have enough experts, which has led to a demand for
qualified graduates in such areas. To meet this need, DTU is enrolling students
interested in Environmental Studies, Health Care and Medicine in the 2012-2013
academic year.
Environment Studies - For a Greener Danang
To
maintain a Green-Clean-Nice environment in Danang, the first thing we need to
do is to plant as many trees as possible. However, we should also pay attention
to other issues, such as natural resources, waste, poisonous chemicals and so
on. As a result, the must be communication between the government, individuals
and scientists to improve the awareness of how important it is to protect the
environment. On 3rd of August, 2009, DTU officially established Department of
Environmental Studies, hoping to provide qualified graduates to meet local
environmental demands.
Students of the DTU Department of Environmental
Studies
In addition to the updating its curricula, provided by universities
in Singapore and the US, DTU sends hundreds of faculty members abroad for
training every year. Dr. Tran Nhat Tan, Dean of Environmental Studies said: “We
often hold workshops, seminars and conferences so that faculty and students to
exchange information and experience about participating in research projects.
The number of scientific projects conducted by DTU students has increased steadily,
year-by-year”.
Students will be provided with basic skills in IT and
English (with a 420-460 TOEIC score) that will equip to work for environmental
companies or in the chemical, petroleum or electronics industries, for example.
Furthermore, it will take only four and a half years to complete their bachelor
degrees. As a result, they will have more opportunities to gain jobs in the
competitive labor market.
Health Care and Medicine - A Wise Choice for your Future
On 1st of March, 2010, DTU was approved by MOET to
offer an academic Heath Care program in Health Care at both the college and
undergraduate levels. Two years later, the DTU Medical Department opened a new
specialty in Medicine.
Modern experimentation
equipment - one of DTU’s strengths
DTU’s Health Care program is based on collaboration with
the University of Seattle and Seattle Pacific University, providing with the knowledge
and professional skills from basic to advanced levels. In the field of
Medicine, DTU will soon offer a course to graduate highly-qualified
pharmacists.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Dean of the DTU Medical Department
said: “We will make efforts to ensure that DTU students graduating in Health
Care and Medicine will be as knowledgeable, professional and competitive as
those graduating from other universities”.
With well-equipped laboratories that meet American
standards, students now have opportunity to conduct their own research experiments.
At DTU, students can be assured of the of the best study environment to open up
great career opportunities nationwide.
