A New Agreement between DTU and Singapore Polytechnic

On 19th December, 2011, an MOU for a general collaboration between DTU and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) was signed. The ceremony was to welcome DTU lecturers and managers, the press and students. This event was considered a turning-point after the eight years spent establishing the partnership.

During the eight-year partnership, DTU and Singapore Polytechnic have conducted some exchanges in Civil Engineering methodologies. In particular, the relationship has been strengthened by the many charitable activities at Hope Village in Danang. Recently, DTU and SP handed over a new dining room at Hope Village as a gift to the orphans there from students at both institutions.

Under the terms of the MOU, CMU and SP will collaborate in research projects, setting up new programs and upgrading lesson plans and laboratories. Also, SP will send lecturers to DTU for teaching and students to arrange new extracurricular activities.

Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice Rector confirmed that the eight-year collaboration has opened many new doors for a long-lasting relationship. He also hoped that there will be even more significant activities in the future. This hope was shared by Professor Tan Han Cheong, the SP Rector at the signing ceremony.

A partnership with SP enhances DTU’s strategy to expand relationships to foreign universities. “Hopefully, ours will be a long-lasting partnership based on equality and the mutual advantages of a close friendship between Vietnam and Singapore” said Mr. Le Cong Co, the DTU Chairman and Rector.
