#1The Danang Museum of Cham Sculpture
More than a century old, this museum is one of Danang’s most famous sights. Located on September 2nd street, it has the largest collection of Cham sculpture in Vietnam today, with five hundred relics on exhibit and four museum rooms which correspond to where they were discovered, in My Son, Tra Kieu, Dong Duong, Thap Mam and in the corridors of Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kontum, Quang Binh, and Binh Dinh. The most notable artifact on display is the statue of the Goddess Tara, considered a masterpiece of ancient Cham art. This statue is now recognized as a Vietnamese national treasure but visitors constantly praise all the unique relics, including the lifelike statues of other Gods and Goddesses. It is 1.8km from The Danang Museum of Cham Sculpture to Duy Tan University, the host of CDIO ASEAN 2018.
#2The Danang Museum
Located at 24 Tran Phu, in the Thach Thang ward of the Hai Chau district, this museum was built in 1989, with total area of 6000 m². It is located on the grounds of the old Dien Hai Citadel, where Nguyen Tri Phuong repelled the first French colonial invasion of Vietnam in 1858. It has an exhibition space of 3000 m² over three floors, exhibiting 2,500 documents, photographs and other objects of historical and cultural value relating to Danang and surroundings, including 1,900 rare artifacts collected since the liberation of Vietnam, many of which are on display to the public for the first time. The Danang Museum and Dien Hai Citadel are attractive sites, steeped in history. It is 300m from The Danang Museum to Duy Tan University, the host of CDIO ASEAN 2018.
#3The Dong Dinh Museum
Located at Suoi But, Hoang Sa Street, in the Tho Quang ward of the Son Tra district, this museum is built in traditional Quang region garden style, creating an intimate and quiet space, surrounded by flowers and trees. Exhibits are displayed in two traditional Quang region style ruong houses, and contain valuable, ancient clay relics from 100 to 2,500 years old, certified from the Dai Viet, Sa Huynh, Cham, Chinese and other cultures in the region, many of which are on display for the first time. It is 9.9km from The Dong Dinh Museum to Duy Tan University, the host of CDIO ASEAN 2018. In addition, there are many famous museums sited in Da Nang such as the Danang Fine Arts Museum, the Buddhist Cultural Museum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum and others with unique features for visitors to explore.
