DTU Students Excited about CDIO Circuit Design Contest 2024

On March 23, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the DTU School of Engineering & Technology held the 2024 “CDIO contest for circuit design” at the DTU 120 Hoang Minh Thao campus.

Besides the lecturers of the DTU School of Engineering & Technology, the contest was attended by Ms Hai Anh from Unitec Japan LLC (main sponsor for the contest) and a crowd of students with a passion for circuit design.

Presiding over the opening ceremony was contest organizer MSc Truong Van Truong, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the DTU School of Engineering & Technology. Also present at the opening was Ms Hai Anh from main sponsor Unitec Japan LLC.

“This contest is held to give students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering a chance to show off their circuit design skills,” Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the DTU School of Engineering & Technology MSc Truong Van Truong said. “It also provides students with a playground to exchange and learn from each other’s experience. We hope that, after the contest, you’ll have deeper knowledge of the field.”

The contest was officially divided into two sub-sessions, and the students quickly solved the problems and meticulously designed their circuits. Some of the teams completed their tasks very quickly and accurately and became the best teams of the two sub-sessions. The jury highly appreciated the following teams and awarded them valuable prizes:

Sub-session 1:

? first prize went to TDT (members: Le Nguyen Phi Truong and Tran Quang Thanh of class K27 PNU-EDD, and Le Huynh Duc of K27-EDD);
? second prize went to Only 1 with only member Dang Duc Tai of K29 EDD-PNU;
? third prize went to Thi Ly Liem of EDK2.

Sub-session 2:

? first prize went to the team of Dang Quoc Bao and Nguyen Van Duc of class K28 EDD-PNU, and Nguyen Thanh;
? second prize went to Come With Me (members: Tran The Tuan of EDK1 and Le Van Tan of EDK2);
? third prize went to Tam Tan ADC (members: Phan Van An, Ngo Thanh Dat, and Tran Thanh Cuong of EDK1).

“I participated in the CDIO contest last year and I was very excited to sign up again this year,” Le Nguyen Phi Truong said after winning first prize in sub-session 1. “The contest this year was more difficult and challenged the contestants more. But with our team spirit, by assigning each member their task, and with the effort each of us put in, we achieved the result we wished.”

Another viewpoint comes from Dang Quoc Bao of the team that won first prize in sub-session 2. “It was the first time I participated in this contest, and I found it super interesting,” he says. “Through my participation, I learned tons of useful stuff. Many teams entered the contest this year, making it even more competitive, but that just motivated me. I’d like to thank the Faculty of Electronic Engineering for organizing such a meaningful contest, and I hope that in the future we’ll get more such playgrounds where we can exchange and learn, and consolidate our professional skills for later.”
