DTU Has Four More Associate Professors

On November 11th, the State Council for Professorship announced its 2019 awards, with 74 academics obtaining the title of Professor and 349 Associate Professorships, four of the latter from DTU, increasing the total number at the University to 51.
 
2019 was the first year that the evaluation was based on the new professorial title criteria of the Prime Ministerial Resolution 37. As a result, almost all eligible candidates had already published research papers in international journals indexed by ISI and Scopus and made many noteworthy accomplishments in graduate and postgraduate education.
 
The four new DTU new associate professors are: 
 
1. Dr. Nguyen The Duong (1979), in Construction
2. Dr. Phan Thanh Hai (1981), in Economics
3. Dr. Phan Quoc Hung (1984), in Mathematics
4. Dr. Nguyen Gia Nhu (1977), in IT

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Duong 
 
Assoc Professor Dr. Nguyen The Duong is currently Dean of the DTU Faculty of Civil Engineering and Vice-Chairman of the Danang Construction Association. He obtained his PhD in Construction from the University of Paris-Est in France, in 2010. So far, he has published over forty papers, with eight in ISI-indexed journals and twenty-three in national journals. Assoc Professor Dr. Nguyen The Duong also led one institutionally funded Nafosted and two other research projects. During his career, he has been awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Construction Association Central Executive Committee and the Danang Construction Association Executive Committee, in addition to having mentored graduation projects which came second and third in the Loa Thanh awards.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Phan Thanh Hai 
 
Assoc Professor Dr. Phan Thanh Hai’s main field of research is in involved in developing new, independent economic processes in Vietnam, during the period of international integration, to complete a new legal framework for Accounting and Auditing. He has published 69 research papers, including 7 in internationally indexed journals. He has also completed three projects with institutional funding, one with ministerial funding and one local application. He has also mentored 16 postgraduate students in the successful defense of their Master’s theses. In addition, Assoc Professor Dr. Phan Thanh Hai has written eight books. monographs, textbooks and reference books, edited by reputable domestic publishers. In the last three years, he was ranked as one of the leading research management staff members at DTU.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Phan Quoc Hung 
 
Assoc Professor Dr. Phan Quoc Hung is a lecturer and researcher at the DTU Institute for Research and Development. He obtained his PhD in Mathematics from the Paris 13 University in France, in 2013. His two main research projects concerned Liouville-type theorems and the qualitative properties of elliptic and parabolic roots and problems and Assoc Professor Dr. Phan Quoc Hung has published 16 papers in international journals, completed one Nafosted and one university funded project. His papers have a total citation count of 215 and an h-index of 6.  
 
DTU Has Four More Associate Professors
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Gia Nhu 
 
Assoc Professor Dr. Nguyen Gia Nhu is Dean of the DTU Graduate School and has 19 years of experience at DTU, lecturing in IT. He has already published 50 papers in international journals and completed two projects with ministerial funding. His papers have a total citation count of 768 and an h-index of 14. Assoc Professor Dr. Nguyen Gia Nhu is also co-editor of nine specialized books published worldwide, by Springer, Wiley and CRC Press Taylor.
 
Becoming an Associate Professor is an important milestone in the careers of lecturers and researchers at DTU. The awards are an acknowledgement of the university’s sustained efforts in its long-term investment strategy to improve the quality of its research teams, encourage the international publication of their research, and to contribute to the general development of education in Vietnam.
