DTU Students Win Big Prizes at the 2018 National Chemistry Olympiad

The excellent DTU team of Tran Nguyen Thuan Hoa, Vo Thanh Nam, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, Nguyen Thanh Mi, Mai Nu Le Hang, all from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine won four Second and a Third prizes at the 2018 National Chemistry Olympiad, although it was their first time participating and they had only limited time for preparation.

DTU students at the 10th National Chemistry Olympiad 

This 10th biannual Olympiad was jointly organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnamese Students Association. The competition provides a forum for students of Chemistry major across the country to demonstrate their talent and knowledge, fosters their love of Chemistry and enhances special teaching methods. University lecturers and staff can also share their teaching and research experiences. This year’s competition, from April 14th to 18th, attracted 266 contestants and 98 lecturers from 41 universities nationwide.

DTU partners with American universities and Vietnamese medical centers 
Tran Nguyen Thuan Hoa, of class K23YDH3, won a second prize and said: “Though this is the first time we have taken part in the National Chemistry Olympiad and we have won several good prizes, thanks to the dedicated teaching of our lecturers and hard work. This will motivate me to continue to study diligently and encourage me to stay prepared for further competitions.”
