Meeting with the Consulate General of Canada to Vietnam

On March 7th, Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu, DTU Vice-Provost, and staff of the DTU International Relations Office met with the Canadian Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Kim Long, Trade Assistant at the Consulate General of Canada to Vietnam in HCM city.

Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu talked about the international partnership strategy that DTU has been focusing on over the years. Aiming to enter the ranking of the top 300 of Asian universities, DTU has always attached special importance to international collaboration. Besides long lasting partnerships with American universities, DTU expects to expand collaborations with Canadian universities and colleges. Presently, DTU offers the 2+2 Articulation program with Cape Breton University in Canada. After enrolling in this 2+2 program, students study for two years at DTU and then for two years at Cape Breton University. 

Dr. Phu expressed the hope that the Consulate General of Canada to Vietnam would help DTU connect with some universities in Canada and suggested some potential activities involving the two countries, such as the exchange of students and lecturers, joint research projects and seminars.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Kim Long thanked DTU for its warm welcome. Besides providing detailed information about visa applications and in-coming overseas study in Canada seminars, she suggested the expectation of a collaboration between DTU and Canadian universities in Tourism and Public Health.
