International Nurses Day Celebration at DTU

On May 10th, the DTU Faculty of Nursing celebrated International Nurses Day at the DTU K7/25 Quang Trung campus. The event commemorates the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Opening the ceremony, Associate Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice provost, said: “International Nurses Day is a special occasion for us to honor one of the most valued medical professionals, and show our respect for community health care providers. With a better understanding about your career, you will be encouraged to study and research harder to become talented, community-oriented nurses. In the future, the DTU Faculty of Nursing will hold many more activities to help students improve their qualifications and professionalism.”

The Nursing Faculty performed songs and dances about Vietnam, their schools and friends to show their enthusiasm, desire and dedication to improve their patients' welfare. At the event, they also recited the Florence Nightingale Pledge to commit to faithfully practice her profession and established ethical values. 
 
The DTU Faculty of Nursing also launched a “Writing about Nursing” contest to celebrate the 2015 International Nurses Day May 12th.
