DTU Launches the 2014 DTU Innovation Cup Contest

On October 15th, the DTU Microsoft Innovation Center launched the 2014 DTU Innovation Cup contest. Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang Huy, Director of the DTU Microsoft Innovation Center, (MIC@DTU), Mr. Doan Trung Hieu, MIC@DTU Vice-Director, lecturers and students from the DTU International School attended.

Mr. Doan Trung Hieu explained the contest, the first one to be organized by MIC@DTU, with the objective of finding gifted programmers in Danang. Individuals and groups are invited to submit their ideas for mobile applications and games, using a Windows Phone platform. Suitable suggestions will be selected by MIC@DTU and receive full support from the Center during their development and implementation.

The contest is an ideal foundation for students to demonstrate their talents and strengthen their qualifications for forthcoming Microsoft national and international contests, including the Mobile Hackathon, the Imagine Cup, Office Specialist and others.

MIC@DTU provides DTU students with study, research, internship and career opportunities at the Center and at Microsoft Vietnam. These include the MIC Internship Program at MIC@DTU, for final-year IT students in Danang, a special program to cultivate innovation at MIC@DTU, and the Microsoft Vietnam Student Partner Recruitment Program. MIC@DTU has also awarded ten scholarships for DTU students to study English.

Pham Huu Chau of K18 CMU TTT said: “I participated in the 2014 Microsoft Mobile HACKATHON and believe that, with the support of MIC@DTU professionals, I will be able to enhance my programming projects and creativity to compete and succeed in the 2014 DTU Innovation Cup and other contests.”

MIC@DTU was founded on June 9th through a collaborative agreement with Microsoft Vietnam. It functions as an incubator of innovative ideas and products for the students with a passion for programming.
