At the meeting, IT lecturers presented thoughts about requirements for IT jobs and the need for highly-skilled IT graduates.

According to Mr. Duong Truong Quoc Khanh, many students have no clear career objectives, which proves to be costly and time-consuming, resulting in some becoming employed in unsuitable jobs. Therefore, students need to define their own career goals when making major career choices, as it will help them establish better objectives and to develop the appropriate skills for their future careers.

Mr. Le Van Long emphasized the vital role of IT in today’s society and recommended students to learn more about such fields as Cloud Computing, e-Business, Mobile Technology and Social Networking, which are all expected to develop rapidly.

During the meeting, IT lecturers and business representatives gave comprehensive answers to student inquiries related to employment opportunities, as well as opportunities for further study at Duy Tan.

Mr. Nguyen Luong Dinh, the Dean of the DTU Vocational School said: “Presently, there are not enough skilled workers to meet the ever-increasing demands of the local workforce, so vocational students will certainly have excellent employment opportunities on graduation. In addition, students can apply and enroll in transfer courses to full-time undergraduate studies if they want. DTU is one of the very few universities to be approved by the Ministry of Education to offer this kind of education. You should not worry about what other people think because, if you all try hard to broaden your knowledge and develop your professional skills, you will change their way of thinking”.
