CDIO’s implementation of innovative teaching methods

On June 20, a monthly workshop was held by the DTU Department of Information Technology entitled “CDIO’s implementation of innovative teaching methods”. Faculty of the DTU Information Technology Department, the Centers of Quality Assurance and Scientific Technology attended.
 
Mr. Truong Tien Vu presents some innovate teaching methods

Mr. Truong Tien Vu, Dean of the DTU Information Technology Department said: “CDIO is an innovative academic model for future engineers”. The four main steps in this new method are to: Conceive (C), Design (D), Implement (I) and Operate (O). Applying CDIO will greatly benefit educators, especially those majoring in technology. It will help institutions to become professionally certified to approved and accredited standards.

He added: “After attending a seminar on CDIO at Singapore Polytechnic, Mr. Le Cong Co, DTU Chairman & Provost realized the compatibility between CDIO and DTU’s academic philosophy of “practical experiments paralleled with humanitarian academic training”. The DTU Board of Provost finally came to an agreement to apply CDIO at DTU and the Department of Information Technology was the first department to implement it”.
