DTU Launches the “Computer Fireworks Display Competition”

On 1st November 2011, DTU partnered with the Danang Culture & Information Service to announce the “2012 Computer Fireworks Display Competition” for DTU students. In attendance were Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, Manager of the Danang Industrial Zone, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Hao, DTU Vice-Rector, and students.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh outlined the competition’s objectives and rules. He said: “In this competition we encourage you to use national songs to compose your musical themes because these songs are all about our love for our country and all are copyrighted”.

Many students attended the workshop 

Students were also introduced to some of the skills required to assemble firework display clips on the computer. “There is some pre-packaged software available or your can use your own. Good planning and preparation will be critical in conveying your concept clearly and the judges will focus the mixture of musical and lighting effects and your commentaries”, said Mr. Nguyen Duc Man, Vice Dean of the International School.

On behalf of DTU, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Hao thanked the local government for their kind support. He said: “IT has been one of the strengths of DTU for several years now. This competition will be an opportunity for DTU students to show their ability and share their knowledge and experience. The DTU Board of Rectors will also support you fully in this competition”.

The Computer Fireworks Display Competition, sponsored by the Danang People’s Committee will run from 30th September, 2011 to 15th March, 2012.
