Exchange of Ideas with Expert Nurse from USA

On August  4th, 2010, the Department of Medicine and Pharmacy held a conference entitled “Updating the Modern Trend in Structure and Organization of US and World’s Nursing Science, the Art of Nursing and its position in the Health Care System”  
 

Participants included Dr.Janet Quillian, Seattle University’s Director of Cooperation and International Development, over thirty nurses from the Danang Polyclinic, Hospital 17, Hospital 199, other faculty members of Danang Medical Centers and Professors, Doctors of the new DTU Department of Medicine and Pharmacy.     

At the working session, Dr. Quillian gave an overview on the founding and development of Nursing in the U.S, talked about her experiences training Nursing in Vietnam. Representatives of local medical centers and hospitals also discussed their own experiences relating to the role and position of nursing in Vietnam.

Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Dean of the Medicine and Pharmacy Department remarked that: "The nursing sector in Vietnam in general and in the Central Region in particular is only in its the early stage of development. Duy Tan University is pioneering this development by enhancing the quality of nurses. By introducing this major, DTU also offers opportunities for nurses to develop more professionally and to meet growing needs of the community.

With the support of medical worldwide experts, DTU will play their role to create the best standard of nursing, education with the motto “Professional Mastery - International Standards - Community Integration, All for People’s Health
